Küçük esnafin finansman ihtiyacinı karsilamak amaci ile kurulan Esnaf ve Sanatkarlar Kredi ve Kefalet Kooperatifleri, 1969 yılına kadar Türk Ticaret Kanuni hükümlerine tabi olarak, 1969 yilindan sonrada 1163 sayili Kooperatifler Kanunu'nun yururlüge girmesi ile bu kanun hükümlerine gore faaliyetlerini sürdüren ozel hukuk tüzel kişiligine haiz kuruluslardir. Esnaf ve Sanatkarlar Odalarına üye küçük ve Orta boy isletme sahiplerinin finansman ihtiyaclarinı karşılamak üzere Milas Cumhuriyet caddesi üzerinde 1963 yilinda kurulan kooperatifimiz, kuruldugu günden bugüne kadar kurulus ilkelerinden şaşmadan hizmetlerini sürdürmektedir.
1963 yilinda kurulan Kooperatifimizde sirasiyla; 1963-1971 arasi M.Cevdet Altindag, 1972 de Bekir Percin, 1973 de Hasan Kücükyavas, 1974-1975 arasi Ali Ornekci, 1976-1981 arasi Hasan Ozkaya, 1982-1983 arasi Ekrem Eskişar, 1984-2011 arasi M.Kemal Karaca baskanlik yapmışlardir. Su anki baskanlik gorevini Celal Devrim yürütmektedir.
Mugla ili, Milas Ilcesinin en düzenli buyük kredi Kooperatif olma ozelligine sahip olan Milas Esnaf ve Sanatkarlar Kredi ve Kefalet Kooperatifimiz, 1996 ve 1999 yillari arasinda kiradan kurtulup, kendi mülkü olan hizmet binasına sahip olmustur.
